Resveratrol is a phenolic compound that has been found to have strong antioxidant activity. Resveratrol is commonly found in red wine, grape skins and other plants. It is believed to be the plants natural defense against adverse growing conditions and fungal attacks. It also appears to have great potential in skin care. It acts as a bactericide, and promotes natural skin healing, reducing the appearance of aging.

Polypeptides are a family of small molecules formed by linking amino acids in a particular order. Proteins are polypeptides, that is, a chain of peptide molecules. Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-3 (Matrixyl®) has five peptides in a chain, forming a protein that stimulates collagen I, collagen III, and elastin fibroblasts. Collagens are the main protein in the human body, forming about 25% of all protein in the body. While there are several types of collagens, they are typically referred to collectively as "collagen." Collagen has tremendous tensile strenght and is the main component of the connective tissues and it is what gives skin structure. Vitamin A has been demonstrated to be effective in reducing signs of premature aging of the skin due to sun damage. Insufficient amounts of Vitamin A in the body can lead to rough, dry skin.

As a free-radical quencher, Vitamin E plays a vital role in helping skin to heal and recover from the daily onslaught of abuses such as ozone, ultra-violet light, and even hard tap water.

Vitamin C has been shown to neutralize free radicals and the damage the free radicals can ause. More importantly, however, is that Vitamin C is required for the production of collagen, the substance that provides structure and elasticity to the skin. Esterized Vitamin C is a stable, ph-neutral form of this important ingredient.

Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), metabolizes into the potent 1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol, which has been shown to reduce cellular proliferation and differentiation in the skin and in the body. What this means is that progress of proliferative cell diseases (such as psoriasis) may be slowed by topical application of the D Vitamins, particularly D3.

Squalane is a lipid that is naturally present in the skin, that peaks during adolescence and begins to rapidly decline after age 25. Vegetable squalane (isolated from olives) is a botanical lipid that is identical in structure and formula to animal squalane, and rapidly absorbed by the skin. Vegetable squalane helps to moisturze the skin, acts as a bactericide, and promotes skin healing.
